Blog Post #5

The book I am currently reading is The Cure For Death by Lightning by Gail Anderson-Dargatz. "Morley Boulee, the man who shot the bear that killed Sarah Kemp." The archetype I chose for this book was a herald. The quote describes a girl being killed by a bear. This event is what everyone in the town is talking about and it has made everyone paranoid about what is in the woods. The quote explains this because Morley Boulee went and shot the bear who killed Sarah.

The book I have just finished reading is Corps of the Bare-Boned Plane By Polly Horvath. This book is told in four different peoples perspective. "She sat down in a clearing, pulling her knees up to her chest. Then I could not have been more surprised by what came next: she put her head down on her knees and started to sob." I think this quote describes Jocelyn very well because the person who is watching her (Meline) is shocked by what she is seeing. Jocelyn is a person who is always polite and is strong. At least that is what she comes across as, but deep inside her is a depressed girl, who acts like nothings wrong. She just puts on a brave face through everything the girls have to deal with.

I chose this video because i think that it describes Jocelyn because she is stuck in a world she hates. She thinks no one can save her because her parents are gone and has no one else but she's wrong.

"I went into the hall, grabbing the wall for support now and again. I'd been sick, so of course I was wobbly." The Corps of the Bare-Boned Plane By Polly Horvath
This quote reminds me of this one time when I was sick. I was not able to stand up alone, so I got my mother to help me walk or I would use the walls. Another time I was really sick my mom was busy so I had to crawl. This also reminds me of when i stand up really fast and my eyesight goes all black and I cannot see anything, so I just use the walls to keep my balance.

The book that i am currently reading is The Corps of the Bare-Boned Plane By Polly Horvath. Cousins, Jocelyn and Meline live with their uncle on a island in British Columbia. The days are rainy and cold. During the day they have nothing to do, but during the night they have their own agenda.

So far I am enjoying this book, I would suggest that girls read this book. This book has a lot of emotions and is sometimes hard to follow which perspective the chapter is in. Other than those small details the book is very interesting and I think that many of you would find it enjoyable as well.

The reason I chose this quote is because it is exactly how I feel about books I like. When I turn to the last page I just cannot wait to read the next book in the series or I will wish there was another book. Also I am very upset that the adventure through the book is over.
